Slow ………flowers………daffodils………

(re-post)

IMG_6556These daffodils joined the household on January 4 and were welcomed here.

I did not know that the slow movement also had flower participants.

IMG_6599Here they are six days later on the 10th.  "Well, hello there …. greetings!"  was my first response.

IMG_6622Two days later on the 12th….. the  second was fully opened and third beginning to spread its petals.    "Taking turns?"  I wondered.

IMG_6630When I got home later that same day …. third was fully opened and fourth well into spreading its wings – I mean petals.  "Having a race?"  I inquired.

IMG_6637This morning.  The first flower  is relaxing and the fifth bud seems to have permanently paused.

It snowed in the night and the sun has turned on full and is skedaddling the snow;  perhaps that conscientious warmth has speeded up the cycle.

I have paid more attention to the slow movement, the gradual unfolding of this bouquet of five daffodils across the past eleven days and will continue in this 'stopping to watch the …. daffodils.'
