IMG_6191For the first time in my more than twenty years in Victoria I walked in heavy rain and was dry, comfortable, content.

The reason for this is likely that it seldom downpours here so the motivation has not been that immediate but, more likely, that this fabric is truly waterproof and the design comfortable.

I made a coat years ago from a rubber-backed fabric that was waterproof but it 'cramped' the body rather than 'housing' it;  this one 'tents' and the design is much better.

The roll-down cuffs to cover the hands are great; they kept my gloved hands dry while  walking and also  acted as a waterproof shield when I was opening wet door handles.

The material 'talks softly' with movement as this one does  but it proved not to be waterproof.
