Out of the Ordinary

Old meat grinder

IMG_5069 Sixty years ago the leftovers from Sunday's roast of beef would be ground in a meat grinder with pickles and mayonnaise and be the filling for Monday's  lunch sandwiches.  I liked them better than the roast.

That was likely part of the reason that this old grinder, at a community garage sale, immediately  was an acquisition.

On further perusal of it, I had planned to attach it to the railing on the deck and put something like cut-up apple or orange in the hopper (is this what it is called?) and see what kinds of birds would come to this unique feeder.

However, the railing was too thick so I put it here.

And I have been admiring it.

It looks rather as if it is climbing onto the stool.

IMG_5060 I wonder where it has been stored to age so rustily.
