Out of the Ordinary

Simple weaving; simply weaving : peg looms : ‘wireless’

IMG_4567 I am having a great time exploring weaving on peg looms, discovering what they can do:  experimenting with a thick warp and thin weft;  a light warp and dark weft;  tight packing/beating;  loose p/b;  using yarn,  fabric,  thrums,  dried flowers,  fresh scented plants as the weft.

It is so portable: wireless comes to mind.

So flexible and an encouragement to leap in and find out the "….wonder what would happen if…" s.

I can weave part way across,  stop and go back,  stop and start again from the side,  stop and go part way back.  And so on.

IMG_4570 It is so intensely and satisyingly hands-on:  I am directly in touch with the materials, with the tools.

It is much fun.
