House plants do not appeal to me. But plants that come into the house to shelter from the cool season are more than welcomed.
This Australian bushmint came indoors several years ago and has not yet returned outside even when the weather would suit it. A number of reasons for this: it grew so large that finding a garden spot that would continue to uplift it became an issue; I liked the convenience and company of its closeness; it settled so nicely into the kitchen on this last move that it has stayed there.
Yesterday I was taking clippings for a number of scented bouquets.
And I found myself in the midst of it, surrounded by fragrant branches and leaves, in the midst of an enveloping forest being, well, enveloped. It was fun and inspired a playful wrestle with arms and branches as gentle combatants. "And the winner, and new champ….eeen of the world is ….. both of us."
