This kind of oven 'mitt' I've never had before so was pleased to come upon a pair at the weekly church sale. And I've had toast racks in the past; I enjoy them for the homeliness/classiness of their original use and the scope of what else they can be used for. I had some notion to use this one for napkins or DVD's.
Once the items had dried from their regulation wash I had an "aha" moment and …..
the toast holder got hung on the towel peg above the sink, the 'mitts' handily tucked in one end and the dishcloth draped at the other end. Now both can be admired as they settle into the household.
I got to wondering if they could also serve as DVD holders.

Oh, phew, thanks for confirming that they are indeed oven mitts. I thought they might have been something entirely different like a his-and-her stop-snoring device or tunnels for Hot Wheels or a new type of one-for-each-hand worry bead. Your ‘bird’ had me grinning.
