Wednesday's ladybug has been hanging about on the glass door leading to the deck.
Yesterday was coolish and windy and, quite frankly, it did not occur to me that she might want to go out.
Today it is sunny and laundry has been pegged out on a neighbourly clothesline and when I went outdoors I took ladybug too. I put her on the half pear that birds have been eating and she immediately began to dine.
It was a bit worrisome leaving her there – she had, after all, hatched indoors and it might have been a premature birth. Indoor incubator …. outdoor sun and breeze and sky and birdsong and fresh air ….
I left her outside.
When I checked on her at noon time she had crawled further down into the pear and seemed to still be eating.
And oh I wish I could have captured the sight of the fly that was also sharing the pear – this cheered me greatly – but it flew away before I could get the camera.
I'm going on errands now. Will report when I return.
Ladybug has gone further into the pear cave.
Fly returned!!
And a mosquito was 'at the table' too.
Fly flew off. I put some celery leaves across the ladybug side of the pear for protection. Mosquito flew away.
