A lovely ice cream churn has joined the household, a flea market find. It is all there but the barrel shafts have gaps and one of the wooden paddles is split so it would likely be a bit of a challenge to make ice cream.
The handle got turned several times to honour past usage. It was gently washed of grease and grime and what looked like dust from a barn; spiders were encouraged to vacate.
An umbrella and walking sticks have taken up residence where the ice – or would it be the salt? – once would have been put.
I thought it was for making butter when I first saw it.
But its name was not about butter.
I suppose it could now be used for felting small objects.
Hmmm……
