A 1:1:1 mixture today with dandelion leaves / anise seeds / rooibos . Very nice with the slightly subdued field flavour that anise provides compared to licorice root ; perhaps, in this instance, it is the sense of savannah from the rooibos.
Daintily sipped from a gift at my birth many years ago. The K is for Kewpie, of course, but all during my childhood I thought it was (only!) because my name began with a K.

I’d prefer to think the K is for Karen. I love anise seed candy and really miss it over here in Canada. If anyone goes to England that I know I always ask for some to be brought back.
I don’t know about anise seed candy – is it perhaps like the French pastilles of violets, I wonder.
