Flea market find : Candle/yarn holder from old cutlery

I've seen interesting things done with old cutlery upscaled into chandeliers and wind chimes and wall hangers but this is the first candle holder I've seen made from a fork and a spoon.

IMG_0368The top of the fork was sharpened to a point and  then stuck through the base of the spoon.  It was meant for a candle or at least was used in this manner as there was wax in the spoon bowl.

For the moment it is 'brightening' my home by holding this small sample of  some spun polyester batting dyed with acrylic interior house paint.

  1. Some creative person certainly came up with an interesting idea there. You have a wonderful knack of finding unusual things at flea markets and garage sales.

  2. Morning Linda It is quite wonderful, isn’t it – would be nice to come across the person who did it. I like how the tines of the fork form the ‘legs’. Happy Solstice to you!
