It is a light material, jointed, and sort of twists – more rolls – into the most amazing shapes…..
The ladies at the rummage sale had no idea what it was. It cost a quarter.
I am certainly getting my money's worth from it.

Depending on it’s thickness, I’ve actually seen things like this which were being sold as necklaces on markets in France and London. From the photos it seems to be the same idea.
Sooo weird you posted this – they are selling these things at – of all places – Carlton Cards at the cash register… there are two loops of the stuff and it is for YOU to make a necklace or bracelet or what-have-you. $19.99 I believe – so you got a deal 🙂
Morning Erin
Thank you for this information. I am having so much fun with mine that I might consider paying ‘store price’ for a gift. And I would like to know how to get them apart – my largest is not big enough to go over a head but might be if I could figure out how to add the smaller one to it.

I was given one of those as a child, or something that looks like that. It was a puzzle and there was a trick to getting the small circle off, when you did the puzzle would be solved. I don’t remember if I solved it, I do remember spending endless car rides with it though. Looking at it and then the telephone wires that race along with you along almost all car rides. I am happy I read your blog today, it made me remember how much I loved the telephone wires and how I would play a game with them in my head. Wonder if I can still play that game…I am planning a long bus ride out to sidney today and I will give it a try.

Hello Bronwyn
I am glad you shared your memories about the ‘thing’. And I hope the telephone wires brought back more contentment on your trip today.
