A man's tie, two safety pins and about ten seconds are all you need to have a carrying case for your umbrella.
This tie is most appropriate, is it not?
It reminded me of the west coast and misty bluish days with flecks of pink sky so that is why it got chosen from my thrift store collection of ties to house an umbrella.
Here's all you do: tuck the narrow end inside the wider end and pin. You could sew it but why bother; and I like the idea of a ten second project.
That's Stephanie of Knotty by Nature where the photos were taken.
A wider tie (thanks, Dad) can be used to carry…..
Or maybe a tri-pod. Or easel. Or music stand.
Or pool cue. Or…….???

…..now you tell me!!! I bought a baguette at Fairway(Shelbourne) last evening (THE BEST multi grain ones in the city!!)..by the time I got home it was in 3 pieces in it’s paper bag.
what an absolutely neat idea…
A wonderful, creative use of ties.
What a fantastic idea Karen! It’s been a long while since I visited your blog. The holidays broke my routine, and a case of the flu (three weeks) has fogged my brain. Glad to be back!
Morning Esther Well, easier to eat already in pieces but the tie idea would have gotten it home intact.
Hello Crafty I haven’t seen this before but the inspiration was the woman who mentioned she kept her umbrella in the trunk of her car in a tie as a covering so I am grateful to her!
Hello Anne I am glad you are back! Hope your flu has cleared. Tell Jean-Paul you need one of his ties…..
