For the second year in a row, the sight of piles of fresh corn on the cob in stores and markets has no interest for me and there is even a mild feeling of repulsion. I used to love corn on the cob and could hardly wait for the first harvest, would drive into the country for it, likely shuck a cob as soon as it was purchased and eat the kernels raw. What is going on here? Am I influenced by interviews with people informing us about the increasing prevalence of corn in many products and feeling overly ‘full’? Am I physically overly ‘full’ of corn?
Corn bread still appeals to me but I am not eating it as often as before. I am wondering….
