Walking along Oak Bay avenue this afternoon on my usual daily Village jaunt: library, post office, grocery store, browsing…….. A very large, very red convertible car, top down, snapped my attention. Santa was driving. A white Samoyed dog was in the passenger seat. Instant smile. Santa waved. I waved back as he drove by. It then occurred to me that if I had seen him coming I might have been able to whip out my camera and capture the moment. But, in retrospect, I am glad I didn’t. Santa waved at me as a friend greeting a friend; I replied in kind and that was more than fine.
