This is what happens when you are impressed by the hats your knitting friends are felting into fetching headwear and you energetically knit and get the loose-stitches, huge-looking hat that looks as if an elephant could wear it and then you put it in the washing machine and take it out after a bit to make sure it isn’t felting too fast and find ……… a pancake!!!! A felted pancake. I have no idea why. It has served over the years as a basis for dry needle felting (which is a lot of fun and rather magical to paint and draw with yarn!) and has almost been cut into insoles a few times.
This is what happens when it works….. I ‘m sure I did the same thing as I did the first time. Makes you wonder…
