If you take the same fabric from which a garment is made, cut or rip it into strips, knit cuffs and collar with it  – the result is total complement trimming with the added attraction of texture.

This one (literally blowing in the wind)  is made from a fine wool in a T-design;  the rustic aspects of the knitted collar and cuffs (only at the wrist)  contrast nicely with the  elegance of the coat, the kimono width sleeve, the drape of the fabric.

A cotton canvas foldover design, the knitting with fabric on this one is for the cuffs, pocket edging and buttons.  A length of crocheted fibre wraps around the buttons for a simple closure.
