Out of the Ordinary

Month: July 2004

  • RHYMING ACERBIC

    Gauche, Again!

    I’d welcome a blush,
    I’d welcome a stammer,
    I’d welcome a faux pas
    Adolescent in glamour.
    The menu is perfect,
    The seating divine,
    Perhaps it would help
    If I gobbled my wine.
    Talk about weather,
    The news, of a play,
    No pause is too pregnant
    To labour away………
    But then of a sudden
    Catch eye in discourse,
    Share mute understanding:
    First date. Post divorce.

    Applause, Applause, Applause, Applause

Those getting-trim women off on a jog,
Their runners the pavement are slapping,
But the sound that persists as they progress to fit
Is the praise of their inner thighs clapping.

    Speechless

A woman with her piercing wit
    Can bury barbs cruel deep,
    Yet with a wicked chuckle
    Man’s counsel she will keep.
    No wonder the poor fellows
    Keep looking for ’em young,
And hope to find a creature
    Before she’s found her tongue.
