A major simplifying has me looking around and deciding what ‘stuff’ I want to keep, what I want to pass on. Form and function are both factors, the comfort of the function being paramount. A wingback rocker is on the exit list, a chair I have had for years. It is beautiful and has a story behind it which enhances ‘ownership’: I qualify this because I tend to feel more a stewardship toward things I have. But simplifying fosters increased awareness and I realized that chair may be causing the stiffness I experience when I knit because it does not allow for free movement of my arms. So I will let it go and create a vacuum for a chair more suitable.
