My worry about what would happen if my skirt got caught in my bike wheels while riding got realized yesterday. It didn’t get caught in the spokes. It got caught in the chain. What happens is the bike keeps going but it suddenly becomes rather hard to pedal. I thought I was going to have to sort of limp into the nearby gas station, bike attached, for help, but did manage to pull skirt from chain. It now has interesting marks on it and a few holes. This morning I put on track pants for my daily ride. Now I know why those old fashioned bikes had chain guards. Maybe I’ll see if I can track one down. Or are the wheels a danger as well? Sigh. I am not a trouser person.
