This is particularly relevant to me today, as I expect to be making an offer on a condo tomorrow. I own very little furniture, and my normal inclination would be to rush out and buy everything for the house in one lunch hour, but I had already decided to live sparsely and let the house become a space I’ll love, over time. Not paint walls, not hang pictures. Just live in it for a while, allowing it to be decorated organically. I have moved often, and this new place is intended to be a home where I’ll stay for 20 years.
