LAW OF SUGGESTION

The law of the universe that advises letting things happen instead of trying to make things happen might benefit from being rephrased to Law of Suggestion.  I’ve been playing with the notion enough in different circumstances to see the efficacy of ‘suggestion’.

F’r’instance – while trying to remove a screw with a slightly stripped hole and having difficulty there came the thought to ‘suggest’ all the components (me, the screwdriver, the screw, the door frame) work together, so to speak.  The thought led immediately to a relaxing in myself and taking a breath and the subsequent and immediate removal of the screw.

F’r’instance – I’m trotting along the street on the way to an appointment and thinking I am going to be late; become aware that I am getting hotter and hotter and my legs are beginning to cramp; comes the thought to ‘suggest’ I will get there when I get there.  Nothing much seems to change except the intention (and the power and the details of this will be addressed in another blog) but I find I am suddenly walking in my normal step without the angst and sooner than I imagine am at the appointment and am a bit early.

F’r’instance – on hearing the news of the earthquake near Japan this morning and the possibility of tsunamis affecting this Island as well, part of me wondered about putting aside some drinking water and most of me ‘suggested’ those waves stay harmless.

This feels worthwhile.
