KNITTERS OF THE WORLD – KIP!!!!

Knitting in Public (KIP’ing) is a powerful tool for promoting and preserving happiness.

Such a statement would seem to need explaining, convincing, but if you are a knitter who has KIP’ed or someone who has seen someone KIP’ing, you are well aware of what I mean.  Passersby tend to smile when they see someone knitting and it must bring back memories or evoke feelings of contentment.  People will stop and talk to someone Knitting in Public and ask questions or offer advice or share information or simply admire.

People who don’t knit but stop to chat with someone KIP’ing find the knitter friendly and receptive: to be able to count on that in an encounter with another human being is rather special.  There are likely exceptions but so far I have not come across or heard of someone KIP’ing who rejects a smile or a ‘visit’.

Knitting in Public is Community.  Expand on the experience.

I’ll post the design for a Knitting Pocket sometime soon;  being able to carry knitting easily and comfortably is an incentive to ‘never leave home without it’.
