Beachcombing with fibre in mind…….

Sometimes when I wander around the verandah of an ocean (for is that not really what a beach is) the smell reminds me of a closet in an old house.  I can’t think why.  No comparisons make sense;  clothes, old dry  wood, old wet wood,  seaweed,  salt,   camphor – ah! – there is the hint of mothballs on the beach in early morning spring mist…..hmmmmm.

Here is what came home in my pocket (and yes, it does make the pocket sag, hopefully temporarily) from this latest beach stroll.  Almost all the objects were carefully chosen with a fibre project in mind and I am not sure if the item thought came first and then the sight of a beach piece or if the pebble or stick or driftwood inspired the fibre object.  Likely both at almost the same time or the sequence would be more evident.

If the ‘visions’ work, I will post the results.  If not, the beach treasures get added to the garden.
