Folded from a single piece of fabric (in this case Zimbabwe cloth) with only three cuts for neck and armholes, an origami design garment starts with the choice of which corner to fold down in the front and then the rest of the piece depends – and flows from – the desired width. Each one is different; pockets, kick pleats, drapes….happen. There is the minimum of sewing.
