Several years ago daughter-in-law Tracey gifted me with the idea of putting stones in the bathtub. Rocks gathered on a beach are meant to have water on them, at least some of the time, to allow their beauty to be displayed. In a bathtub this is satisfied and the feeling of the ocean can occur. Also the stones may be used on rough skin as pumice. What the heck – they are really pretty and they look interesting!
I was suddenly reminded of this practice the other day when I caught sight of the rocks on the deck railing. It is fascinating how something comes to mind in spite of having seen the 'trigger' many times before. Those rocks came home with me from different beach combings. And that is why and how there are stones in the bathtub.
I suppose they would work in a shower as well. ??

I have a collection of stones that I keep in a very large clear glass vase filled with water. Stones do look so much better in water. I got a lot of greenish ones while in Victoria and the colour is so much better when they are wet.
of course! it all makes sense now 🙂
thanks for sharing
Hi Crafty
Stones in a large glass vase in water sound delightful – and it seems they have a ‘history’ as well – like your greenish Victoria ones. Lovely souvenirs!

Isn’t it wonderful – and amazing! – how a few words of explanation make sense of a situation! But I have to admit the possibilities that come to mind seem limitless in some cases. Crafty’s mention of her collection of stones in glass made me think of your collection of buttons in glass!
