At this time of year I begin to see ladybugs in the house and assume they have hatched from indoor eggs.
This one was on the floor and I put it up on the windowsill for a closer look. It did not look great and rather like an old warrior so I am wondering if they also hibernate. Hmmm….have to google.
It seemed to have only one usable leg and was moving slowly in a stagger. So hard to know if a quick squish would put an end to suffering or if it is just fine as it is; an ongoing dilemma.
I carried it carefully into the bright and sunny kitchen and put it in this tulip petal. It was still there this morning. But in the past I have had ladybugs seem dormant for ages and then – fly away home. Will wait and see…..
