  • Felting around rocks

I'm in the midst of a 'snoop' through my stuff to see what's what and in the "felted pieces" suitcase I came across these;  decided to take them out for an airing.

I much enjoy the process of felting around rocks and suspect that another session is about to happen due to the snooping and the shifting and the nudge of the stuff.

The pin cushion is now in use .  I think I'll make a few more;  fill them with fleece that still has the oil on it which keeps pins and needles smooth.  I have heard that sand in a pin cushion does the same thing.  Is this true?

The vessel on the extreme right was an experiment in thickly wrapping a stone and felting loosely.  The result was quite different and I like its exuberance.  I'm not sure what it could contain that would complement that free spirit aspect but am thinking on it…….

Natural occurring curls and flaps – as on the glass and cell phone cases – inspired the ones I intentionally made on the 'slipper' pocket.
