One thing about using suitcases for storage – if and when you move your things are already packed!
The versatility is a great feature and they are an attractive way of storing everything from clothes to office supplies, art items, gardening tools, fabric, yarn, 'junque', seasonal stuff etc. All in the same room! It helps to label what is in what.
They can also be used as tables.
Ease of access is worthwhile to consider; the stacked arrangement can allow for this.
And often they come with a 'story' – either from the person who was selling or the travel labels or addresses written inside.

What a collection of old suitcases that look wonderfully preserved. I do have the same small square basket (second shelf from top on right), in fact I have 2 different sizes of them.
Morning Linda
That basket you mention was a gift from my eldest son and holds my handkerchief collection. I’m wondering what is in yours.
In my larger one I keep a special angel night light that was made for me by my dear friend. I only take it out at Christmas time to use. In the smaller on I keep some necklaces, one an old one from way back when that is made out of coffee beans. I’m not a necklace wearer (or a coffee drinker) so only get these out once in a while. I’m a bracelet person and one of these days I should take the time to convert some of them to bracelets.
I am drooling over all those fabulous suitcases…
love love LOVE them!!!
Your house always looks so nice. All those wonderful things you make and find, the flowers and funny sticks and pebbles. And now the suitcases. Lovely.
Thanks Crafty for sharing the contents of your baskets!
Hi Laughing
That’s exactly my response when I see them at church sales or thrift stores!
