Knitting in the garden : playing, actually

IMG_9574 Bottles upended on bamboo sticks sway in the wind and give a delicate chime amidst the bird song.

IMG_9569 Using some nice weight tawny wool,  casting on six stitches,  knitting four rows with needles ranging from the (almost)  smallest  to the  (almost) largest  ….

IMG_9568 …  and then using arms as knitting needles (75 mm perhaps?) –

IMG_9575 results in a length of knitting that shows the interaction of wool and needles,  that gives the chance to watch and feel the process,  that stretches the moment.

Shadows dance.

  1. I love blue bottles in the garden and have a couple in various places … one is on a tea cup feeder and another is part of a mushroom that I made.

  2. Something special about blue glass. I have tried green bottles and they are okay but not quite the same.
