Out of the Ordinary

Simplifying / decluttering / declogging

One way to let go of 'stuff''  is to imagine you are moving a distance away and the cost of transporting items is going to be $50 a pound.  These two factors give a focus and perspective.  Imagining things moved from their present space to a new one is exciting and liberating,  permission to get rid of things that are stale or a burden and replace them (or not!) with things that we really want.  The exercise may lead to simply 'moving around' in the space we are in now.

Another powerful tool is to look at 'stuff' (that which we don't want,  don't use,  don't like,  don't need) and realize – "Someone else could use this".

The reason most of us want to get rid of  'stuff'' is because we know how good it feels to do so.  We just need encouragement to do it again!

  2. I’m always downsizing, but never seem to notice a difference. I use a Freecycle group to give a lot of my items away … works great.

  3. You’re welcome, Tina. An ongoing, adventure! Say, you’re not thinking “someone else could use this” about the Citroen, are you? Chuckle.

  4. Hello Linda.
A vacuum keeps occurring when we make a space and more flows in. And Freecycle is a great idea – people in the ebb and flow. Thanks!
