The colour of the yarn would have drawn my immediate attention - and then the content (linen and cotton) – and then the fact that this yarn was old and had likely been humming to itself in somebody's stash for a long time – but, truth be told, I did not see it in the first stroll up and down the aisles at a rummage sale. It was in a bag with a lot of pastel acrylic and it was only due to a rather by-chance poke into the depths of that bag as I was leaving the sale that I saw the tawny treasure. A quarter for all.
At home I wound two of the balls into center-pull balls which I could then easily draw into four strands and knit this dish cloth using the yin yang design. (page 51)
