At the Letter Writing Club of Victoria on Sunday afternoon (Koffi, Haultain at Belmont), Heidi commented that writing with ballpoint was fine but wouldn't ink pens be fun and maybe even the nib kind that has to be dipped in an ink well.
In anticipation of our next session I got out my ink pens and cleaned them up and suddenly pen wipers came to mind. An improvement on tissue.
Could make some!
These worked up quickly and easily. The green was knit from my handspun polyester batting that was dyed with acrylic paints. The white is the batting in its pristine form and done in Tunisian crochet. The purple is handspun wool dyed with Kool Aid in the microwave and thanks to Caroline at KBN on Tuesday afternoons who alerted me to the fact of crocheting into the back and then front of stitches across a row and getting great texture and patterns is done like that with single crochet.
They do their job on inky pens and fingers!
PS They are called wipes, not wipers! Just did a google search and came up with some fascinating information.
