The coat made into a loom on which to weave my handspun – and thus take on outings - is wearing well, both as an architectural garment housing the body (worked great as a raincoat early this morning; is now scenting the house with the essence of wet wool) and as a loom holding its shape.
There is a moment's pause and consideration – actually, it sometimes takes a day or so with the awareness that a perfectly good item of clothing is about to be altered in a way that might result in a shattered vision – but so far, once I have taken scissors (and courage!) in hand , I am glad I did.
The Burberry coat is one example. The Tilley hat, notched in the top to accommodate my topnotch, is another.
