The adventure of using arms as knitting needles and different 'yarns' continues. Raw fleece was used here and gave a nice cool weather scarf but I wanted something more spring like.
The ivory one is made from a length of rayon/cotton material ripped into inch or less widths and knit across four stitches. I like it a lot and wear it a lot and when I was looking for it to put with the others for the photograph realized it was cozily draped around my neck.
The narrow linen-coloured one is a rustic linen yarn, finished just awhile ago because I needed the linen for a pair of socks and was wondering how it would knit up on arms into a scarf. It is airy and free-spirited; I don't know if it will prove a bit too rough for skin contact but draped around a collar suits.
The large one is made from three or so inch widths ripped from a bolt of material from the reduced rack at a local fabric store. Unknown content. I like the stone colour and window screen texture and soft drape and flyaway edges. A slim skirt is planned from some of the rest of the material. I bought the entire rest of bolt. It may be clothing me in garments for years!
This ivory one is from twelve strands of cotton across three stitches and I suspect it will have more appeal once the weather is warm/warmer again. I made the aforementioned ripped cloth one as it is suiting the spring season.
The purple is from a year or so ago and is a smoother linen across three stitches so more compact than the linen-coloured one and more friendly against the skin as a necklet.
The large one is made from men's ties and is more a wrap or cowl than a scarf as it has some weight to it. I may try coiling it into a bit of a hat. Hmmm. Or loop it and hang it from the neck down the back like the scarves with the East Indian tunics and large legged pants; I like how that drape causes the straight-back line from neck to waist and suggests good posture and clear energy chakra flow.
There is more knitting on arms here ; scroll the index for arm/hand knitting - towels and ties. There is also how to rip a continuous strip of fabric.

Fear not that thy life shall come to an end, but rather fear that it shall never have a beginning.
So cool! These are so crafty and original. I love how scarves can translate into any season, it’s all in how you tie the scarf!
