  • Cement ‘footature’

IMG_3698 Over the years I have come across enough interesting expressions of people and animals advertently (people) and inadvertently  (animals)  taking advantage of  unsupervised wet cement so I stop and observe any offerings.

This caught my rather amazed attention, initially, because I just discovered it today – practically outside my front door! – and I know it must have been there for ages. I guess there has been enough going on above foot level to have this escape notice until now.

Secondly –  well, take a good look.  Does it not seem that the right footprint is on the left and the left on the right?  Did the person cross legs to achieve the effect and if so why and if so, congratulations on such a feat of balance and originality!  Or did he (judging gender by size and width) put shoes on wrong feet first.  Which, considering cement dries fairly quickly and city workers cement  in broad daylight, the cement alterer was risking suspicion if not censure by switching shoes on a public sidewalk.  And the imprints seem to be heel heavy which suggests perhaps jumping and then falling back.  Ah, the mysteries of life ……  on our own doorstep.
