Out of the Ordinary

Blossoms! Lining the streets.

IMG_4395 Yesterday I strolled View Street which is lined with flowering trees from Cook to Douglas.  I thought about plum blossoms and cherry blossoms and Japan.

The trees are a month late blooming this year.  Usually you can be casual about a flower walk,  see them in bloom while passing in a car and plan to come back in a few days or a week or so and have them still in full bloom.

Not this year.

IMG_4400 There is some catching up to do.  The blooms were hardly out when the leaves began to appear.

Splendid .  Different.

  1. Beautiful – we are still waiting for the flowers here – they are very late indeed! My son and his girlfriend were hoping to get a bit of spring last week when they were here – lots of rain, no flowers – but at least it was green.
I love the blossom trees and it now always makes me think of Japan. I hope that there is a lot of renewal and growth there as spring arrives in Japan.
