This kids' book has nicely shaken me out of my limited idea of what gravity is.
The fact that it can pull sideways; that it draws the smaller mass to the larger … when its "the only force operating".
I googled and came up with this definition: Gravity is a natural phenomenon by which physical bodies attract with a force proportional to their mass.
Further googling offered much more information.
For the moment my mind wants to, simply, consider the interesting fact that it "can pull sideways." And wonder if "physical bodies" includes thoughts. And where energy plays a part.
And share with the grandkids how gravity prevents us from picking up something on the floor if we are standing with our back to a wall. And why.
