Out of the Ordinary

Month: September 2011

  • Plant ‘pots’

IMG_5591 In mid-August I began to think of  some of  the  garden coming indoors across the cold months so the scented geranium outside by the door which provide a fragrant welcome or farewell had clippings taken.  These were put in pots with a rooting compound, enclosed in a plastic bag,  popped in direct sun now and then to produce condensation,  given an airing to prevent mould, and when tiny new leaves appeared I knew they had rooted.

So they came out of the plastic and got put in a kitchen window.  I needed a drip tray.  The pots are square.  Something waterproof and flexible was needed …

The recycling bag produced these, one from frozen veggies,  one from brown rice.  They work perfectly.
