Photographing rain

IMG_5944Capturing the rain with the lens eluded me during a recent early morning storm.

I did not even attempt to capture blowing bubbles in the rain in the dark a few nights later.  Just hoped the Moon had cloud-ray vision.

Well … open umbrellas ….  I guess that is photographing 'rain'.  Sort of.

Then I looked up at the umbrella over me.

IMG_5959Oh!  Raindrops.

  1. A friend recently told me that she loves a grey, rainy day. It made me think; there is something beautiful in rain and grey clouds. Have you ever wondered why ‘blue skies’ get all the attention?

  2. Hi Michele
They are dry and sunny and suggest ‘warmth. Weathermen give grey and rain the ‘thumbs down’ and our mood, obediently follows. You can sit on the ground when it is warm and sunny under blue skies. The beauty of rain and grey clouds is a way of seeing. I bet you can suggest more. What would your friend say?
