It's an ongoing endeavour this simplifying, organizing; de-cluttering; GROS'ing; culling; downsizing; lightening . I like how there are so many ways of describing it. I like how people give different reasons for why they do it and how they do it.
Each time I engage in the adventure I seem to come across a new awareness.
A few days ago the kitchen eating area/studio looked llike this.
Now it looks like this. Several hours across two days were involved in this latest sorting.
It had been on my mind for a month or so; in retrospect: on my shoulders. Thing is, this time I decided that the feeling was like what you feel when someone stands too close to you and you try to politely move away to a distance that feels comfortable.
The interesting part is that I didn't realize I was 'being stood too close to' until I had 'stepped back' and this insight gave me a new perspective on what getting rid of or re-arranging or re-spacing things can accomplish.
It feels good.
And there is an increased awareness that a major factor is making things simpler, easier, more convenient. Easier to find things; more convenient to navigate the space; simpler to relax in a relaxed atmosphere; everything meaningful.
And this feels very good.
