Out of the Ordinary

‘Origami’ everywhere…..we just need to ‘see’

Traditional origami means the folding of paper but taken more loosely to include fibre, then origami exists…..everywhere!  Sometimes it happens by chance as in the green dishcloth, sometimes on purpose as in my daily folding of the knitted bedcover and folding (not daily!) of the fabric stash piles.

Hanging scarves fall into lovely folds.  Balls of yarn in a basket are more stacked than folded but when the stacks are viewed in a certain way…..    And the same with hats……

The blanket on the day bed is tossed and then tweaked into its folds.  And skeins of fibre are folded in such a satisfying rhythm if done by hand and arm.
