Wearable gardens and scented bouquets are longtime delights; it was while gazing at the 'babies' from spring time snippets of the parent plants that the idea for uses for teeny fragrant leaves and flowers as jewellery presented.
These are the scented plants: (from far left clockwise) Australian bushmint, southernwood (these two are my favourite), lavender leaves, sweet woodruff (this is a favourite too), a selection of scented geranium leaves (um, I really like scented geraniums, also), lavender flowers (love them and can't have them without the leaves – so, I guess they are all favourites; and the reason the parent plants invite a scented touch as a welcome greeting or farewell at the door)
The glasses are an unusual brooch; the left ring a FIGIT and the other ring has helmet aspects.
The concave surface of the silvery ring provided a nice nest for the fuzzy scented geranium leaf and the lavender flowers….on thumb or finger.
Southernwood tucked into the flexible FIGIT worked well.
A lavender flower and sprig of Australian bushmint tucked neatly into the nosegrip of the glasses.
Meant to be touched, the plants are more than decoration when worn and release their fragrance thusly. They may dry out and fall away and scatter; that is part of the journey.
