Well, now I know. You can grow scarlet runner beans in a container. The first planting gave me a bean a day for snacking. This is the second growth and I am curious to see when it will produce beans. One bean was left for seeds and is plumping up nicely.
The flowers are so cheerful.

Your scarlet runners are doing well Karen. I grow mine in containers too. The beans are just starting to appear.
