Spinning (freeform) with (quilt batting) ‘fleece’

This polyester batting –

– is being playfully spun into yarn –

-  and wound into skeins  –

– and dyed with acrylic paints.

Previous experimenting with this dyeing process led to these small samples.  I am pleased and motivated. 

Here is today's yarn rinsed and having some dibs and dabs of more paint added to it. 

The "dibs and dabs" aspect of it is exciting both in the process and the result. 

Now it is drying in the sun and the wind. 

It may remain like this – but now I am wondering how it would respond to having some darker brown (that's red and black mixed, right?) splattered or sprinkled on it…….
