(re-post)
Had the time and opportunity to observe a man in a restaurant and his 'leg jiggling'. He was seated at a table for four, two men, two women and I was wondering if his 'jiggling' corresponded to his being the speaker or the conversation becoming more lively but if so it wasn't obvious. He jiggled both legs, not at the same time; some people favour one.
I first became aware of this practise back in high school with a fellow student who crossed her legs and jiggled the dangling foot almost incessantly. I wondered if she were aware of doing it but never got up the nerve to ask her.
If you poise your foot, toe in contact with the ground, heel raised, as the man was doing, it doesn't take much effort to get the leg jiggling and in a momentum. I
don't think it should be lumped under obsessive-compulsive behaviour because the trigger seems different.
The more I play with energy and become aware of our attempts to guide the guard the dosage, I feel this 'leg jiggling' is one example of energy dispersal.
