CBC Radio Overnight this morning had a piece on a Mathematics Museum in Germany. If it were reasonably go-able to-able I would definitely be go’ing to’ing. It sounded fantastic! Comments from people in attendance were that it was fun – fun! And very hands on. You could play with blocks and marbles and have math thusly illustrated. Walk around in a circle and have the footsteps turned into pi(22/7). And a huge attraction for me is the bubble tunnel where you are actually enclosed in a bubble. I’ve had the experience of standing in a bucket of soapy water and having someone raise a circular wand saturated in the solution around me so that I was on the inside of a bubble looking out. Magic!
